All services provided by Summit Skills (“us” / “we” / “our“) will be referred to as “event”, “events“ or “booking“.

Booking & payment terms

To secure a booking on an event, full payment is required, by credit or debit card, via our website payment system, or bank transfer. You must complete all required information for a booking to be confirmed.

Additional costs

You will cover all costs not included in the event e.g. accommodation, meals, drinks, gondola fees etc. If required, please check accommodation availability before booking an event, especially in peak season where choice is limited.

You will need to provide your own transport to / from the start / finish location. We can advise on transport options and provide route / parking information.

We can arrange taxis for you, but the payment to the taxi company will be covered by you on the day.

Cancellation & amendment policy

If you cancel

All cancellations must be made in writing and the following terms apply. If the cancellation date is:

  • More than 14 days prior to the event start date, 75% of the event cost will be refunded.

  • 14 days or less prior to the event start date, no refund will be given.

If you amend

All amendments must be made in writing and the following terms apply:

  • If you wish to change your booking e.g. add group members, please contact us as soon as possible. There may be an additional fee depending on the change.

  • A substantial change such as different date or route may not be possible at short notice. Please give as much notice as possible.

  • If you make an amendment that lowers the cost, more than 14 days prior to the events, a refund of the difference will be given, minus a 15% admin fee.

  • If the amendment occurs 14 days or less prior to the event start date, no refund will be given.

If we cancel

We reserve the right to cancel any event, however, this would only be necessary in exceptional circumstances and we will give as much notice as possible. In such an event, we hope to offer you an alternative booking. If this is not possible or acceptable, we will issue a full refund.

Age limit & dogs

All members of the group must at least 14 years old and one member must at least 18 years old.

Dogs are not allowed on group events. Contact us to discuss taking dogs on a private event.

Our responsibilities & requirements

  1. We will provide, as near as possible, the event as described on this website or emailed itinerary. However, due to conditions out of our control such as adverse weather, closures, accidents, equipment or fitness issues, we may not be able to provide the exact event e.g. mountain summits, route, course etc.

    • We will discuss alternative options between the group and try to find an agreeable compromise, however the Leader’s decision is final.

    • No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

  2. We will carry all necessary emergency, first-aid & safety equipment for the event.

  3. We will have all necessary & up-to-date qualifications and insurance for the event.

Your responsibilities & requirements

You agree to fulfil all event responsibilities & requirements. Additional linked information (clothing & equipment, fitness & nutrition etc) constitute part of the requirements. You must:

  1. Accurately provide all required information at booking / checkout i.e. medical information that would affect the event, next of kin etc.

    • You must carry appropriate medication and advise the Leader where to find it.

  2. Follow all instructions and decisions of the Leader in charge of your event.

    • If you choose to disregard any advice given by the leader before, during or after the event, you accept liability for all resulting injury, incident or damage.

  3. Bring / wear appropriate clothing & equipment for your event.

  4. Have the appropriate level of fitness & mountain experience for your event.

  5. Bring adequate food & drink with you, plus eat enough beforehand to fuel you for your event.

  6. Arrive to the event in a fit & proper state i.e. not drunk, hungover or under the influence of drugs.

  7. Conduct yourself appropriately on the event i.e. be polite, no inappropriate behaviour or making other group members uncomfortable.

  8. Agree to Leave No Trace i.e. carry all litter, food waste, peel, cores etc off the mountain.

Failure to fulfil these requirements may result in you/your group being turned away at the start, or the event being aborted at any stage with no refund given.

Personal injury & effects

You understand that we accept no responsibility for accidents or injury or for loss of or damage to personal effects, unless caused by negligence on the part of us.

If you are not a UK resident, it’s strongly advised that you have adequate travel / personal injury / cancellation insurance in place to cover any eventuality.

Your data

We require certain information to allow us to process your booking. This includes, for example, your name, address, telephone number, and email address. We do not sell your details to other companies. The information that you provide us with will be held in our systems and will only be provided to third parties who require the information directly in connection with your trip. Force Majure

We will not be held responsible or offer a refund / compensation for any unforeseen situations that result in cancellation of an event. These include, but are not limited to: war, riots, civil unrest, terrorism, natural disaster, pandemics, industrial disputes or severe weather.

Complains Procedure

If you are unhappy with your event, you must raise your complaint with your guide at the earliest opportunity. If the problem is not resolved on the event then you should put your complaint in writing within 30 days.
