Private Guided Walks: Scotland

Private guided walks allow you to tailor your day to your liking, pace etc. It’s just you/your group and me. Walking with an experienced guide means that you can enjoy your day without worrying about logistics, navigation or safety. Plus you have your own photographer!

Choose from a selection of classic Scottish mountains, an arete / ridge walk or a more challenging multi-Munro day. Each route has a fitness & terrain rating that indicates how difficult the route is. If you can’t see any routes that interested you, get in touch to discuss something bespoke.

Easy Munro Summits

Not everyone has the fitness nor inclination for full day’s walking up steep mountain paths. Luckily, there are a few options to “Bag a Scottish Munro“ with minimal effort by using a chairlift or gondola. Some may call that cheating, I call it a smart way to have an amazing mountain experience!

These routes are shorter, more leisurely days that can include a visit to a cafe or restaurant. These are half day hikes, but can be extended to full day.

If you have any questions, get in touch.

Aonach Mòr via Nevis gondola

Distance: 6.0km | Ascent: 565m

The all weather gondola at Nevis Range takes you to the Snowgoose Café at 650m. You can visit the café before or after your walk. There’s also the option of the Pinemarten Cafe at the base station.

The route starts and end at the Nevis Range ski centre. There’s ample parking (£5 per day), a bus (Shiel Bus No. 41) and lots of taxi companies in Fort William.

This route can be extended to a full day to also summit Aonach Beag. The distance increases to 9.5km and the ascent to 845m. The terrain is mainly path with one short steep rocky section.

Gondola tickets, including mine, are an additional cost.

Meall a' Bhùiridh via Glencoe chair lift

Distance: 4.5km | Ascent: 430m

The Access chairlift at Glencoe Mountain takes you to 678m, leaving a short 430m ascent to the summit. At the bottom, you can visit the White Corries cafe. Alternatively, you can visit the up-market Kingshouse Hotel which is only 1.5 miles away.

This route can be extended to a full day to also summit Creise. The distance increases to 8.5km and the ascent to 785m. The terrain gets a little more advanced with a short ridge walk connecting the two.

Chairlift passes, including mine, are an additional cost.

Multi-Day Packages

If you’re interested in a bespoke, multi-day package, contact me to discuss options. I frequently work in the Fort William & Glencoe area, but also in other areas of Scotland such as the Cairngorms, Kintail, Loch Lomond, Torridon, Skye etc.

Fill in the booking form and I’ll get back to as soon as possible. Please provide information about your mountain experience so we can plan a successful day. This is particularly important for long multi-summit days or any routes with ridges or aretes.

Let me know if you’re looking for something specific i.e. photography or to see sunset/sunrise. I can also arrange taxis from/to your accommodation.
